Description
Oxytocin Acetate is a synthetic peptide hormone used to induce or strengthen uterine contractions, promote lactation, and control postpartum hemorrhage. It is also used in animal reproduction and scientific research.
Effects
Induction or enhancement of uterine contractions; promotion of milk ejection; control of postpartum hemorrhage; enhancement of social affiliative behavior (non-registered indication); promotion of uterine involution; assistance in animal reproduction.
Usage
Intravenous infusion or intramuscular injection; usual dose: 2-5 IU per dose, adjusted according to clinical response; start with low dose for labor induction; total duration depends on labor progress.
Suitable for
Parturients requiring labor induction; women at high risk of postpartum hemorrhage; breastfeeding women needing lactation promotion; assistance during animal parturition; in research for uterine contraction induction or social behavior studies.
Not suitable for
Patients allergic to oxytocin; those with severe cardiovascular disease; parturients with fetal distress or cephalopelvic disproportion; women with placenta previa or risk of uterine rupture; unauthorized personnel must not self-administer.
