
Description
Recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) is used to treat anemia caused by chronic kidney disease and other conditions, stimulating the bone marrow to produce red blood cells.
Effects
Improves anemia symptoms; increases hemoglobin levels; increases red blood cell count; reduces transfusion dependence; enhances tissue oxygen supply; assists in chemotherapy-related anemia management.
Usage
Subcutaneous or intravenous injection; starting dose 50-100 IU/kg per week in 2-3 divided doses; adjust dose according to hemoglobin levels; maintain hemoglobin at 10-12 g/dL.
Suitable for
Patients with anemia due to chronic renal failure; patients with chemotherapy-related anemia; patients with HIV-related anemia; individuals preparing for autologous blood storage prior to elective surgery.
Not suitable for
Patients with uncontrolled hypertension; those allergic to EPO; those with a history of pure red cell aplasia; use with caution in pregnant and lactating women.
