Description
ACE-031 is a soluble fusion protein that acts as a decoy receptor for activin receptor type IIB (ActRIIB). It works by binding to and inhibiting myostatin and other negative regulators of muscle growth, thereby promoting increased muscle mass, strength, and lean body mass. Originally developed for treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and muscle-wasting conditions, it showed promising results in early clinical trials but development was discontinued due to safety concerns.
